What is the scope of Horizon Assess Air ™?
Any airline, regardless of size, can apply for Horizon Assess Air ™. Initially the scheme only concerns airlines that wish to obtain an Assess air certificate for routes to or from France. The scheme certificate specifies the routes covered by the label. The airline must clearly indicate the flight routes that have received the certificate to consumers, thereby demonstrating its commitment to transparency and hight-quality communication.

How can an airline obtain the Horizon Assess Air ™ certificate?
An airline company wishing to obtain the Horizon Assess Air ™ certificate must accept the system of unannounced « mystery », on-site and documentary assessments defined by the assessing body to verify that its practices comply with the label specifications. When all stages have been completed, the airline application is submitted to the Horizon Assess Air ™ committee which gives its opinion before the final decision is made by the assessing body, AFNOR Certification. The label is awarded for 3 years, subject to passing the intermediate assessments conducted 18 months later, except in exceptional circumstances (for instance loss of IOSA certification).

Which body conducts the assessments and inspections of airlines to Horizon Assess Air ™?
In order to comply with the Safety section, the airline company must present an air carrier certificate (case of an EC airline company) or an IOSA certificate issued by IATA. The air carrier certificate (within the EU) is issued by the national regulating body, such as the DGAC in France, after verification that the defined requirements have been respected. The IOSA certificate is issued by IATA after verification that the sheme requirements have been respected. The assessing body, AFNOR Certification, checks that the airline company has an up-to-date version of one these documents and that it is not recorded on the European, Swiss or American lists of prohibited companies. The Information Transparency and Service Quality sections are assessed by the assessing body.
